When Catherine Lau Shuk-fan took up operating in 2007, her motivation was easy. Pressured from her regulation research on the College of Hong Kong, she wanted to unwind. So she donned her trainers and set off on a run.
“It was a fantastic journey for the thoughts,” she says, describing how operating invigorated and recharged her.
Inside months, the budding lawyer had signed as much as compete in her first 10km (6.2 mile) run within the Normal Chartered Hong Kong Marathon occasion. Seventeen years on, the 42-year-old plans to be on the beginning line of the full marathon race on Sunday.
Between these races, Lau has run across the globe, and gone from chasing private greatest occasions to serving to others chase theirs.

After catching the operating bug in regulation college, she moved on to operating a half-marathon after which full marathons, finally competing within the 2014 London Marathon.
