China’s navy mouthpiece places concentrate on ‘political rectification’ after generals purged


China’s navy mouthpiece has launched a collection on “political rectification” – linking it to the ideological purity of the Individuals’s Liberation Military – days after a number of generals had been expelled from the ruling Communist Get together for corruption.

Within the first instalment on Monday, PLA Every day ran 4 pages of commentary and reporting urging the navy to “strengthen and consolidate the consciousness of alignment and adherence”.

That was a reference to the alignment between the get together management and the Central Navy Fee, which is chaired by Xi Jinping.

The editorial launching the “Deepening Political Rectification” collection mentioned that “the smoke of ideological warfare has by no means dissipated; the tug of warfare between fortifying and undermining our foundations rages on, and the battle between forging and corrupting souls persists”.

It mentioned the important thing to addressing these challenges was political rectification.
